Role Summary

Conduct customer due diligence on ongoing reviews by applying the relevant CDD requirements to fulfil SMBC policy and regulatory requirements. Support the Front Office departments in understanding customer AML risks.

The anticipated salary range for this role is €41,000 - €63,000, with the final offer determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, role scope, location, and relevant market factors. In addition to base salary, the role may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award and a competitive benefits package, including core benefits such as pension provision.

Financial Crime Middle Office

Financial Crime Middle Office (FCMO) is responsible for reviewing and verifying customer information and undertaking screening against a customer/counterparty and its associated entities for PEPs, Negative News, Sanctions and any other related Financial crime issues.

Position Description

We are looking for a KYC analyst to join our Brussels team.

Complete assigned ongoing KYC files.
Control documentation supplied by the business departments, for completeness, adequacy and accuracy.
Investigate and analyze results of screening for Negative News, Sanctions and Politically Exposed Persons relating to customers.
Keep up to date with any changes in the procedures and apply said changes in the daily work.
Draft required forms to document any exceptions to the procedure or to explain specific situations.
Liaise with Front Office Departments and within the team when discrepancies in documentation are identified and provide appropriate feedback.
Ensure relevant systems are updated when a change has occurred during the review.
Escalate any issues arising from the KYC process to the coach in a timely manner.
