Clients use Euroclear to settle cross-border equity transactions that process on NASDAQ/OMX, NYSE Euronext, LSE, and other types of trading systems. Euroclear SA/NV comprises a network central securities depositories and operates the TRAX trade-matching and reporting service. Euroclear traces its roots back to 1968.

ABN AMRO got a fresh start with the Dutch government. In 2010 the bank, one of the largest in the Netherlands, separated from Royal Bank of Scotland and was transferred to a new holding company, ABN AMRO Group, which is wholly owned by the government. The new ABN AMRO Bank serves commercial, consumer, and private clients in the Netherlands, and nearly 30 other countries. In 2010, the Dutch banking operations of state-owned insurer ageas (formerly Fortis) were merged with ABN AMRO Bank. ABN AMRO announced plans to cut up to 5,000 jobs in the Netherlands in relation to the merger. The cuts represent about 17% of the combined workforce of the banks.

France's La Poste might have roots as a "poste aux chevaux" (pony express), but it is galloping into the future. The company delivers letters throughout France via a network of about 17,000 postal outlets, some 5,000 of which are managed by partners. Its ColiPoste unit handles parcel delivery in France, and sister unit GeoPost offers international express letter and parcel delivery through Chronopost International and express freight transport through TAT Express. La Poste offers financial services (savings accounts and other products) through its Banque Postale subsidiary. In March 2010 La Poste, formerly a state-run enterprise, became a public limited company and gained a new shareholder, Caisse des Dépôts.

Arval, one of Europe's leading fleet and fuel management companies, is a subsidiary of French banking behemoth BNP Paribas. The company leases and provides fleet management services for about 700,000 vehicles. It handles fuel purchasing, accident management services, car rentals, and more. Clients range from small businesses to FTSE 100 companies. Arval operates about 20 subsidiaries around the globe and maintains international alliances, such as with US-based PHH Vehicle Management Services (which does business as PHH Arval). Founded in 1989, the firm has its roots in a transatlantic joint venture with Avis, which combined BNP Paribas' Arval operations with Avis' PHH operations.
