    Avantages

    Avantages

Reasons to work here: helicopter view on the Belgian technological industry while working in a dynamic organisation providing constructive advice and valuable R&D services to companies. Variety of customers is amazing: from tiny start-ups to multinationals. This is also the place where learning and training are actively encouraged.

    Inconvénients

Salary simply is on par with what Belgians earn: not a lot of money. Obviously this is also due to the insane Belgian taxes on salaries (around 50% of gross salary).

    Conseils à la direction

Not much; in my opinion the current management does a good job - obviously not everything is perfect, but the few weaknesses of Sirris are by and large compensated by its upside.

    Avantages

Sirris' legal structure and by-laws are such that working here means: the best helicopter view on the whole Belgian industry, an untarnished reputation of independence and expertise (and in 60 years of existence, that's something to boast about), the kind of job that puts you very often in direct contact with top managing teams. Also, the organisation values employees who like to keep their skills sharp and to learn new ones. It's a great place to hone your skills if you are that kind of person.

    Inconvénients

The downside is lower salaries than in industry.

    Conseils à la direction

Will Sirris retain its best people when companies are offering way more than a few % higher salaries?

    Avantages

Access to the very best Belgian companies - at top and/or technical management levels. Sirris manages interesting and useful portfolio of R&D projects. Management actively encourages training and education of its employees. A rather flat hierarchical structure suits very well the R&D focus of the organisation - and makes contacts between staff so much friendlier.

    Inconvénients

Salaries lower than in industry. There is the legacy of past mistakes that still drags the organisation down in one of its large branches, while in another branch people toil under sometimes pushy management. Some of the new "top" managers are disappointing. Yet, this is one of the very few organisations that truly empowers its employees.

    Conseils à la direction

Keep implementing new policies and fight tooth and nail to remove sometimes silly legacy obstacles - we can do it.
