Avantages
If you’re interested in the Cloud provider industry, Scaleway is a good place to learn and grow. They offer many high‑quality internal trainings, and most employees are skilled and genuinely eager to share their knowledge. If you work in Paris, the office is great, you meet people, enjoy a nice cafeteria, events, and a dynamic environment. Salaries are competitive, and you benefit from large‑company advantages (CSE, perks, etc.). It seems that working conditions have degraded over the past years, but compared to many organizations, it still remains above average.
Inconvénients
Scaleway has a large office in Paris and much smaller ones elsewhere. The company promotes hybrid work but used to allow full remote. Remote work is not allowed during the first three months, even when none of your direct teammates are in the same office, which can lead to spending hours commuting to be alone in the office or spend all day on video calls. There is a clear difference in benefits between Paris and other offices. Local teams do their best to create engagement but lack the budget to make it meaningful. Communication can sometimes be harsh, and there’s a real lack of alignment and consistency in the vision and roadmap. This leads to overwork and internal competition for resources instead of collaboration toward a shared goal. Trial periods are systematically renewed, even when managers want to confirm the employee. Scaleway officially denies it, but it's real. Don’t lie about it, just fix it.
