    Avantages

Pay and benefits aren't that bad

    Inconvénients

It had a horrible environment. It's like is stuck in the 50s. Old school way to do things and they don't seem to care if the employees are happy or at least engaged with their work

    Conseils à la direction

Get to the 21st century. Whatever worked for the founder and the dozen VPs you have, it doesn't work anymore.

    Avantages

The pay is good, especially if you don’t have a college degree. They’ve recently opened up satellite offices in the north end and south end of the greater Seattle area which means you can make your pay seem even better by moving somewhere less expensive. There are some really friendly employees that make work enjoyable. The Seattle location has an Avenue C “market” within one of the buildings where you can buy fresh...

    Inconvénients

The company culture is lacking... most people don’t feel particularly loyal to the company and there’s a reason for that. Upper management and HR is old school. The dress code is outdated, processes and procedures are outdated and difficult to change, the overall tone from corporate emails is stuffy, condescending or falsely positive (as in their view on the situation doesn’t match the reality). If you work in Seattle,...

    Conseils à la direction

Make your employees of all levels feel valued. Try harder to boost morale through company events. Fix things when they are broken. Allow more employees to have work-from-home options. Provide cheaper parking options. Send out anonymous surveys to get genuine employee feedback. Loosen up on the dress code... or at least change it to fit with modern fashion trends. Retrain HR to fit in with modern HR practices.

    Avantages

Are you a kleptomaniac? Your stealing will be acknowledged months after it happened, and by then it wont matter. If personal property is visible you might as well take it. No firm stance against it even if they caught you red handed. Youll fit in with the culture here

    Inconvénients

They want to be progressive in the dress code

    Conseils à la direction

No advice to give, only praise. The circus style of management is promising

    Avantages

Good medical benefits. Member of the Union.

    Inconvénients

The overall feeling is that management had blinders on or that they do not want to confront the many problems that go on. Outdated policies - must get approval from the home office to do just about everything. Lack of supplies to do the job - from paper to correct training for new procedures. Unorganized and tense office setting. Procedures changed so often it was hard to remember which way to do things.

    Conseils à la direction

Hire people who have good work ethics. Hire more people. Take a walk around the office, see what's going on and change what's not right. Treat the Union staff as equals, not lesser than. Have enough trust in your employees to tell them what's going on. Have staff meetings. Strive to make sure your staff is happy or at least content.

    Avantages

Travel, non competitive environment, okay supervisors

    Inconvénients

Non competitive environment, lack of incentive.

    Conseils à la direction

Incentive is key, otherwise, why wouldn’t an individual here go work elsewhere in this competitive workforce? Relying on getting people who are complacent, which leads to meh workers.

    Avantages

    • Solid entry level pay/salary • Great benefits with tuition repayment and holiday bonuses on top of the Employer matched 401k • Location: not right in downtown, easy to commute from nearby cities • NWA is transitioning into a more flexible, less stuffy company. They are a traditionally conservative company, making strides to maintain competition and increase employee satisfaction. It takes time, but it is there •...

    Inconvénients

    • Workspace: if the Audit department is fully staffed some are given a space between cubicles, instead of their own space. The cubicles just need a reorganization for the space. (There have been improvements in this area, but could still be better). • Would be preferred to have Company Cards for travel expenses, reimbursement is nice and works great, just would prefer to not be required to front the money myself.

    Conseils à la direction

Some policies could be loosened to enable employees to be more productive. Internet permissions and telecommuting can be improved/enabled.

    Avantages

Pay was decent. Fun Eastlake neighborhood. The experience of finding out what type of company you do not want to work for.

    Inconvénients

Outdated: Training techniques; Lack of material, tools and structure. Trainers will degrade you for their lack of leadership. Management styles; Treated like a child rather than a colleague.
