Thank you for sharing your candid feedback. While we’re glad to hear that you value our product, growth potential, and the training and workplace environment, we’re deeply concerned to learn about your experience with our culture. Your comments regarding ethics, transparency, and diversity are important, and we want to assure you that these areas are core to our values. We recognise that building an inclusive and transparent culture is an ongoing journey. To that end, we’ve taken concrete steps to promote openness and integrity across the company. Our operating principles, such as "We Build Trust," emphasise transparency in decision-making and accountability at all levels. We work hard to foster open communication through regular All Hands meetings, leadership updates, and clear, accessible information channels to ensure that everyone feels informed and included. Regarding diversity, we acknowledge that continuous improvement is essential. Our commitment goes beyond a claim, we are actively working to improve representation and inclusivity through initiatives like Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), where colleagues from different backgrounds can connect and shape inclusive practices. We also prioritise internal mobility, ensuring opportunities for career development and promotion from within. We hear your concerns about individualism and stress, and we understand the challenges that come with a hyper growth environment. Our principle of "We Succeed Together" drives us to cultivate collaboration, not individualism. We are actively investing in wellbeing programmes that offer mental health support, as well as learning and development opportunities, and initiatives to encourage cross-team cooperation, all aimed at reducing silos and fostering a more supportive environment. Thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback. Your insights are invaluable as we work to ensure that the culture at Checkout.com aligns with our values, and we remain committed to enhancing the experience for all our colleagues.

My time at CKO was marked by a toxic environment perpetuated by management. Despite public claims about caring for employee well-being on platforms like LinkedIn, the reality was starkly different. Management exerted immense pressure, treating employees poorly and showing no regard for their mental health. When it came time for them to dismiss you, there was no HR support whatsoever. It's a shame to see a company prioritize profits over the well-being of its employees.

Toxic workplace, run away!

Avantages

None, they sell a culture and values but it’s just communication. It’s totally fake and is masking a perverse workplace where people are treated as tools, not humans.

Inconvénients

Honestly, there would be so much to say about this employer. I’ve never seen a company showing so much contempt towards their employees! No integrity, no respect, no transparency, nothing good. Your job is not recognised and you can lose your bonus with no reason. If you don’t show off to the higher management or you’re not part of the small group of “privileged”, don’t even think about being promoted. Worst, you may be part of the next batch of lay offs. They’re restructuring all the time and this often goes with its set of lay offs. They try wrong strategies constantly, affecting staff stability and client service quality. If you care about your mental health, stay away from this workplace as harassment, pressure and burnouts are part of the routine.

Our Employees are the heart of our company, and we are always looking at ways to recognize and reward our people through opportunities, promotions and bonus schemes. We have not revoked eligible employee bonuses. In fact, we've actually made recent changes to our bonus structure to ensure it's more competitive and standard to the market As a fast-growing business, we recognize that the pace is not for everyone. We also recognize that there is always room for improvement and your comments around communications are duly noted. Thank you for your time at Checkout.com.
