Avantages

Supportive Management: Management is approachable and supportive. However, the Canadian owner was not helpful or experienced in anyway. Flexibility: The company offers flexible working hours, which helps in maintaining a work-life balance.

Inconvénients

Small and Uninspiring Accounts: The accounts handled by the Toronto office are small and often not very engaging, making the work feel less impactful. US-Centric Focus: There is a strong focus on media relations in the US, with less attention given to integrated tactics and the needs of the Toronto office. Uneven Resource Distribution: The US office seems to get more attention and resources, leaving the Toronto office with smaller, less significant projects.

Avantages

Supportive account teams help you get up to speed quickly. Teams are highly connected, meeting weekly (if not more), which leads to stronger collaboration and better ideation. The Vested name is now known across the industry, so journalists are often familiar with the firm’s processes and know who to contact, making it easier to build relationships.

Inconvénients

There is a disconnect between Directors/Upper Management and the rest of the agency.

Avantages

Opportunities for growth fresh out of college - excellent graduate program that should be expanded to give more support to mid level team members and also offer them management opportunities. Access to senior leadership and direct client experience from day one. Hands on meaningful work

Inconvénients

Culture of constructive feedback overarches everything. Great if you're fresh out of school looking to learn and become a great worker. Terrible if you've put in years of work and there's no sense of respect or appreciation for that. Lots of gaslighting - especially when people ask for space to complete their work, are overbilled, overbooked, overscheduled, and at 200% capacity in the internal planner. I was told in a performance review that couldn't get a raise or promotion because "I say no too often" and "am over capacity." Being over capacity is a management failure, NOT a reflection of employee performance!!! Completely absurd and frankly disgusting to blame employees for the fact that YOU keep losing staff and taking on business you can't handle. Touts financial acumen but refuses to upkeep salary increases that reflect inflation. Extremely cliquey environment. Literally they don't care about you as a person at all. Don't care about your life events, your family, your health. I've seen people at all levels, from CEO to your peers, not give one damn about employees having babies, losing a loved one or leaving the firm after 5-10 years. Not a blink or a goodbye or a thank you or congratulations or even an email acknowledging they wish you well. We're all human. And for a boutique firm built on personal connections, do better.
