Avantages

Most of the employees at Skip Barber Racing School are focused on the company mission of training drivers to be safer and smarter about their driving. There is great camaraderie among most employees and very little micro-management.

Inconvénients

Salaries may or may not be paid on pay day. Company financial resources are so low that it is often not possible to do your job. Company officers are out of touch with the reality of business needs and are inaccessible to both employees and customers.

Avantages

SOME of the people were really great to work with Small Company feel

Inconvénients

No work life balance along with poor compensation. Management lacks professionalism towards all employees. Favoritism is highly practiced (cliques). All expenses are to be out of pocket with reimbursements taking months for them to process.

Avantages

Name recognition - people will get a kick that you work/worked at a racing school.

Inconvénients

The company is in a tough spot with a poor financial situation, management for the most part that is out of state and relies upon a few key staff to keep everything running (who understandably cannot do so very well). The racing industry itself exactly been thriving as of late and relies upon a customer base with a certain level of household income that isn't growing either. Techs are far overworked (no overtime), paychecks have been more frequently delayed, services shut off because of bills unpaid, new parts cannot be ordered for cars. The key staff still there are doing so out of loyalty to the brand. There's also kind of a "boys' club" attitude as well that holds back the level of professionalism that's required, but they can't fire people because it's so hard to get decent workers with pay the way it is. Policies are written and then promptly made exception to constantly. You can draw your own conclusion as to how morale is.
