Local employment for minimal travel time. The scheduler does what he can to provide flexibility. Good dental and vision coverage. Great chance for overtime. It's a paycheck.
Inconvénients
Starting pay is low. - $9/hr at AK Steel Not-affordable medical coverage. - My family was approved for government insurance because of it. Poor screening for new employees. - They hire anyone that applies. Lacking disciplinary action for attendance issues. - Nothing is done about the same employees causing good workers to get stuck working a shift they did not intend to work. Poor office manager - it takes forever to get anything done with uniforms, boots, or payroll. No room for advancement - The office staff has been around forever and the only promotion you can get is sergeant/supervisor.
