Great coworkers who value collaboration and working through a reproductive justice lens to ensure reproductive healthcare for all people everywhere.

Inconvénients

Tarina Keene is by far the worst leader for whom I have worked. She has no longterm planning skills or foresight, consistently shifting the team's priorities while never creating a tangible strategic vision for the organization or staff. Tarina Keene takes on more than she can handle, simultaneously micromanaging every department while also delaying projects or meetings due to an overbooked schedule. She is highly reactive rather than proactive, creating confusion and the consistent feeling of urgency in the day-to-day work. Additionally, she is an ineffective communicator who withholds information or resources to the detriment of the entire team. She also becomes defensive when decisions or strategies are reasonably questioned. In fact, one may feel uncomfortable or afraid of asking questions. RRVA is a member of the Virgina Reproductive Equity Alliance coalition, though Tarina has been asked to refrain from its virtual meetings due to her continuous disruption and ineffectiveness, From an administrative perspective, the organization is also a mess. There is no employee handbook or other inherent policies of a work place. Though PTO is allotted, it is discouraged and there is no specific policy in place. When on PTO, expect messages and emails from Tarina. Likewise, though leadership boasts a 35 hour work week, expect messages at all hours of the day - sent at the whim of Tarina's thought process. REPRO Rising Virginia is on their third HR consultant since December of 2022 and these issues remain unresolved. Raises are not annual nor expected - most team members have not had a raise since early 2022. As the team shrinks, members are expected to take on the workload of their missing coworkers without any sort of compensation, acknowledgement, or support. The Board of Directors is completely withdrawn from the organization and does not participate. I would not recommend working at REPRO Rising Virginia or any organization associated with Tarina Keene - I am one of 5 employees who have left voluntarily within 5 months.

good for getting experience in undergrad meet and connect with people who have like minded goals
