Avantages
I feel like we are on the cutting edge of how biotech will be done in the future: Driven by data and models, partly to cut down the amount of manual work that needs to get done, but especially to improve the quality of insights that you can get. As a result there are a lot of interesting challenges to solve. On the engineering side these are especially related to proper data modeling, and managing the scale of data (e.g. one of our jobs needs to process 25TB all at once, and I expect there will be more like that). The company is being selective about hiring which means that everybody so far is quite motivated and skilled, which is refreshing.
Inconvénients
There is a ton of work right now, though that's pretty par for the course for a startup.
