Avantages

Schering-Plough encourages Work-Life balance. It offers benefits that are better than average. Eligible employees also get an annual bonus, which is much better than average - the last 3 years it has been almost double than expected! This annual bonus will probably diminish in the years to come since Schering-Plough is now struggling. Schering-Plough also has a pention plan in addition to a 401(k); the pention plan is standard unlike in many other companies. With Schering-Plough's purchase of Organon (a European company) there are lots of opportunities to learn US and EU regulations. Also, Schering-Plough is working hard to figure out how to work more efficiently, which allows employees to learn risk-based and Quality by design processes.

Inconvénients

Career growth is almost nonexistent. Higher-level positions are usually filled by people from other companies - not by promoting internal SME's. Ever-ongoing re-organizations.

Avantages

Over my tenure, I had the opportunity to work alongside highly talented and mission-driven colleagues dedicated to improving patient outcomes. The organization provided exposure to cross-functional collaboration, leadership development opportunities, and meaningful work supporting healthcare providers, patients, and community stakeholders. I appreciated the company's commitment to innovation, professional growth, and serving patients through scientific advancement.

Inconvénients

Like many large organizations, priorities and organizational structures evolved over time, which occasionally created uncertainty and changes in responsibilities. Decision-making processes could sometimes be complex due to the size of the organization, and navigating multiple layers of stakeholders occasionally impacted speed and execution.
