Avantages
My co-workers are the best commodity at MSC, as they are smart, friendly, helpful, and very supportive. I work with a close knit group of engineers who are the best. I also have a lot of freedom to do my work, and I am not micro-managed. My manager respects my abilities and trusts that I will get the work done. Again, it's the people at MSC that makes it a great place to work.
Inconvénients
MSC has slowly gone down hill in sales over the past several years which has really hurt the employees. No raises for the last two years, layoffs, constant management changes and reorgs, and no clear path for future products. The recent acquistion by a private firm hasn't helped, as a good portion of the US jobs are now being moved to India. The company benefits have been getting worse every year, where the employees are getting less benefits, having to pay more for them, and having higher deductibles. Definitely not like it was 10 years ago when I first joined.
