Avantages
hotel has so much potential
it is beautiful
co-workers are great; that's how you get information on what's going on in the hotel
some great managers (they usually don't stay long)
Inconvénients
lack of qualified or experienced upper leadership
culture is not one of learning and growing; upper leadership often does not know how to handle difficult situations
training & support is minimal (some say it doesn't exist); when you start, you're thrown right into the fire
most employees try to avoid the GM
clientele is tough and rude; GM lets them take advantage of services when they all have money to pay
no communication between departments; it's good to know your co-workers
image of the hotel is great but the behind the scenes is NOT good
food consistency and quality NOT great, so if you're selling food, know that!
the actual job you take will include SO MUCH MORE than your job description, you are not appreciated
no raises based on performance, just 2% increase to cover cost of living
pay is not as good as most other hotels
