My husband and I first began volunteering with Destiny Rescue in 2011, in Northern Thailand, when there was just a handful of people passionate about rescuing children from the sex trade. Everyone was doing their best — sacrificing wages, comfort and the familiarity of their passport countries — to put their hearts and lives on the line for these precious children. Apart from the orphanage model, there wasn't a precedent formula to follow, so we made mistakes. Each time, we scraped ourselves back up again to learn more effective ways to operate and serve this vulnerable demographic.
Since then, Destiny Rescue has evolved exponentially.
