They were trying to show they care for their associates. The salary and benefits were competitive.
Inconvénients
Four leaders in the last 5 years. The company didn't really change what was needed to be successful. Poor execution and a clear strategy. Not a differiator

Coworkers, exposure to different areas of IT, decent pay
Inconvénients
No support from upper management, working with skeleton crews on multiple projects at once, 1-on-1s felt like a waste of time, annual raises were not competitive
