Avantages
CivilTech provided me with an opportunity to grow at an accelerated rate. I simply had to work harder to learn several tools, reading several technical papers and carrying out almost all the projects’ tasks by myself. As a result, I became experienced and self-reliant in conducting projects in a shorter amount of time.
Inconvénients
- As much as I appreciate the opportunity to learn and grow, working at CivilTech cost me a lot. There was a lack of work-life balance. I had to put in an unlimited amount of time for each project, far beyond the scope of work, since there was always “budget shortage” and “deadline is tomorrow”. I had a high level of anxiety and stress at work. - In my opinion, the company’s issues mainly stem from assigning unrealistic workloads to employees, poorly scoped projects, unnecessary perfectionism, inadequate resources, cultivating poor culture, high turnover rate. - A few months after I left my job at CivilTech, I realized how toxic CivilTech’s work environment is. A lot of things that are a norm at CivilTech, would be considered unacceptable in a professional work environment.
