Avantages

The best part of NetApp is the people. They genuinely want to help customers succeed with NetApp products. They are very collaborative and will go outside their job functions to help where needed.

Inconvénients

The culture at NetApp has changed significantly in the 8 years I was there. Much of this change has been driven by poor management and poor quality control. The hard push to adopt cDOT before it was ready for prime time has driven many large customers away from NetApp or has significantly damaged relationships. Attrition is happening for good reason. NetApp is no longer the company it use to be where they did whatever was needed to ensure the customer had an outstanding experience and a quality product. It is really a shame how badly the culture has deteriorated in the past few years. Work/life balance is driven by the organization you work for. In some groups, there is an expectation that you will be available and work 7 days a week, even if the work is not urgent. If you aren't available and responding to email on the weekend, expect a poor review. NetApp has changed from a company of leaders to a company of managers.

Avantages

Amongst the top companies in the data storage industry = company stability.

Inconvénients

If you'd ask me a year or 2 ago, I would have given the company 5 stars. But, as with most tech companies now, they've started to follow the trend of return to office, regardless of logic. There's little to no room for exceptions and the company would rather sacrifice productivity regardless if they know the hardships for people living in metros (one way commute to the NY or SJC office can take 2 hours one way!) - that and there's no commuter benefits. You have to pay out of pocket and live in fear of not receiving your bonus if you miss the "thrive together" quarterly requirements.
