The Role

As a Senior R&D Engineer, you are the master of the "algorithmic engine" that powers our thermal breakthroughs.

You won't just be a user of existing software; you will be a software developer responsible for building and refining the proprietary generative design kernel that defines our products.

This is a high-autonomy role where you will translate "impossible" thermal math into the code that generates the next generation of liquid-cooled cold plates.

Key Responsibilities

Architect the Solver

Develop and maintain our proprietary generative design engine, writing custom C++/Python code within OpenFOAM or similar CFD frameworks.

Optimize the "Smartfins" Logic

Implement cutting-edge Topology Optimization methods:

  • Adjoint methods
  • Level-Set
  • SIMP

Push the boundaries of Conjugate Heat Transfer.

Bridge Math and Manufacturing

Integrate real-world manufacturing constraints directly into the optimization loop to ensure designs are "ready-to-ship."

Drive the Digital Twin

Collaborate with our software team to automate design cycles.

Lead through Research

Translate complex thermal research into scalable, high-performance code capable of handling the rapid refresh cycles of advanced CPUs and GPUs.

The Essentials

Advanced Academic Background

A PhD or Master’s degree in:

  • Mathematical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Or a related field

Developer Mindset

Proven ability to write and implement custom solvers/tools in C++ or Python.

You are a creator of tools, not just a consumer of them.

Topology Optimization Expertise

Deep technical knowledge of:

  • Adjoint methods
  • Density-based (SIMP)
  • Level-Set approaches

Thermal Fluency

Strong foundation in:

  • Thermodynamics
  • Liquid cooling
  • Conjugate Heat Transfer (CHT)

Startup Grit

You thrive in lean environments where you own the full design lifecycle and prefer rapid prototyping over corporate red tape.

The "Extra Mile"

  • Experience implementing manufacturing constraints into optimization frameworks
    • Example: overhang angles for 3D printing or high-volume casting
  • Experience with OpenFOAM or similar open-source CFD frameworks
  • Familiarity with the data center or AI infrastructure space
  • A portfolio of research or projects where you’ve scaled "stealth" concepts into industry-standard applications
