The process involved a psychometric test, HR and technical interview and then a group exercise. The interview in my opinion tests how you approach the question and how you arrive at your solution. The interviewers give you time to answer and positive reinforcement when you don't sound confident about your answer. The group exercise is the final stage of the process where they observe how you work in a team.
