Very typical. I met with the person whose job I'd be taking over and the director of the department. They asked me a few questions, and told me about the positions. Then I met with the senior assistant vice president, whom I would directly report to and she asked me a few questions. After that they called the staffing agency and told them that they would like to ask me to join the team. The staffing agency then took two plus weeks to finish my background check before I could start.
