What is a VLAN?
Utilisateur anonyme
A VLAN is a virtual local area network. A VLAN allows for multiple end user devices to be on the "same switch/same network" even when in different locations or buildings. VLAN 25 could be set on a switch in building A, B, and C--but the devices on that VLAN will believe they are on the same physical switch. For VLANS to function this way, they would have to be trunked between the physical switch infrastructure.
