Virtual Job Tryout

They say it is for your benefit to give you an idea of what the job will be like, but of course it is test. There were several tests. One being "of the four, pick what you would most likely do and least likely do." 8 or so questions of those scenarios. Let's be honest, pick what they want you to pick and you'll be fine, read between the lines. Read them as if you're a hiring manager. They had a few personality tests and another one where you choose a "somewhat like me, a lot like me" but will have 2 different sentences on each side. I believe it was 80 questions. It seemed they were asking the same 10 questions 8 different ways. Looking for consistency and certain traits, simply tell them what they want to hear. They say there's no right or wrong answer, but there is, the right answer is the one that gets you the job. For example: "I like to know my schedule" () a lot like me () somewhat like me () somewhat like me () a lot like me "I enjoy taking on new projects" So you would pick between the 2 statements and only click one of the boxes if its somewhat like you or a lot. You cannot choose both statements. A few questions later it may say: "Having a daily routine is important to my success" () a lot like me () somewhat like me () somewhat like me () a lot like me "I love to be busy all day at work" If you haven't figured it out yet, with the two questions above the second answer is the 'right' answer. The other answers they will view you as lazy and conclude won't go above and beyond your duties. For my position there was a section where you listen to 3 phone calls between a banker and a customer. There is a screen with boxes on it with the customers name, income, address, marital status etc.... There are also two buttons on the side of the screen and when they light up you are supposed to click them. One button is to transfer a call, the other is to acknowledge a message from a supervisor. You're not actually transferring the call or reading the messages but just multitasking to click the buttons while still listening to the phone call. Most of the info will be filled out and you will have to correct things like the spelling of their last name, maybe add an address etc. They say you can replay the conversation as many times as you want but the ability to click the two buttons is removed after the initial attempt. I got the first conversation the first try, the next 2 I had to repeat once each in order to double check a few things. With this mortgage position there was also some somewhat tricky no timed emails to respond to where you would work out if a person qualifies for a mortgage or what their new rate would be if they changed x,y,z. Just pay attention to the small print and make sure you have the right program for the client. Also address the email professionally and keep any remarks of the clients personal life out of it. "My husband died and I need to refinance my house", don't email anything about her husband, no condolences, nothing. The lady may have been abused by her husband, or some other weird thought process the makers of the test had in mind. Just remain neutral, even though in real life most of us would sincerely emphasize with the lady.
