J'ai passé un entretien chez Uber

      Entretien

It was a lengthy process with a lot of rounds. But it allowed me to meet most of the team and learn more about the role. There was an initial phone screen, technical screen, written assignment, and then panel of key stakeholders.

      Entretien

I applied through Uber's site and a recruiter reached out to me to schedule a phone interview. On the day of our phone call, she called me 10 min after our scheduled time. Spent most of the time explaining the company structure and role and asked me only 2 questions. I felt like I barely got to cover my experience and only had the chance to ask one question before she hinted that she had to get going to her next meeting. Even though I barely got to explain who I was, I guess she liked me because she concluded the call by letting me know she'd like to have me come in for an on-site interview and to email her some time slots that I would be available. I sent her a follow up email with my availability shortly after my call. Then, I don't hear from her for several days and I sent her a follow up email - again, no response. Sent her another email a few days later and got a response saying that they decided to move forward with someone else. It was super generic and impersonal and looked system generated. I felt insulted that there was no recognition about her failure to respond to all my other emails (in a timely manner). The communication is severely lacking and I was very uncomfortable never knowing where I was in the pipeline. As a recruiter myself, I can say that I had a horrible candidate experience. On top of all that, I randomly got a rejection email again 2 weeks later at almost 11 pm! (Way to rub it in...) From an outside perspective, it seems like their recruiting team is very stressed and overwhelmed

Came in for an interview and took about two hours to finish the through with the entire panel. It took around 2-3 weeks from the time I had an initial phone interview all the way to the final onsite interview.

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Uber (Bengaluru) en janv. 2019

      Entretien

I was trying to change my career at the time so I was taking on interviews in different types of areas and companies that appealed to me. The process started off smooth with a scheduled phone interview which I cleared. However the hiring manager mentioned that my current salary was over their budget so she'd try to match it but couldn't make any promises. I was then invited for an on-site interview. They gave an Uber voucher to reach the interview location, the food in cafeteria was also very good and complimentary. However it all went downhill from there. The interviewer was changed at the last minute and one of them was not too keen in listening to me for some reason & his eyes were only on the clock since he had some meeting after that. The second interviewer was very good and I must say she gave me some useful overview of her role and experience at Uber. I never heard back from them, not even a rejection email. When I called the coordinator in-charge about the status he just casually mentioned that they have closed this position with another candidate and promised to get me some feedback on what went wrong/didn't work out. As expected I never received anything. I had applied to Uber against my instincts (had a bad experience with their recruiters earlier as well). I was younger, stupid and borderline desperate to find employment with a big brand.
