J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Tulane University (New Orleans, LA) en août 2009

Applied through web page based on my good friend's recommendation. Very fast decision. They hold high standards for incoming graduate students. When I had troubles with visa, they helped me with the whole process and the office staff is amazing. Interview was based on my previous work experience. Doesn't dwell much on how much you can memorise. Rather, they focus more on fit.
Interview with three different faculty members. Mainly about why you want to join Tulane, your experience with research, if any, and why you want to go into research. Also was asked to describe my research in more of a research proposal form (rationale, hypothesis, experimental designs, results, discussion)
Nicely done, very thorough and thought provoking for a graduate student to hear. It's been a pleasure to report back, have a nice day my friend. The weather is fantastic.

The interview was straightforward. Very friendly faculty. We mostly talked about common interests, which pretty much was the reason why I got the interview in first place. We used emails and Skype for the interview. I mostly went over faculty's website trying to find common interests, technically I got called because of that. Other than that, I was not offered a visiting stipend.

Question 1
Pretty much common questions for a prospective graduate student, GPA, experience, in-common connections.
