I applied online and got an interview shortly after. I had worked at this employer for the previous 4 summers in different positions, so a one on one interview is standard. I did not get the job due a poor evaluation last summer which is understandable. I was told the decision was to take a while do to them being understaffed. I took 5 weeks to find out that someone else had gotten a job from friends. I sent had still not heard back from the employer. Although this may be normal for most interviews. I would expect a former employer to at least let me know someone else had gotten the job.
