It started out awesome and ended in a very disappointing way. I applied online and received an email asking when I would be available for an onsite interview. I showed up to the interview and sat in a conference room with the CTO and CAO. They just asked me basic questions about my experience and had a conversation about general technologies, what I liked, didn't like, what I worked with etc. Seemed like they were getting a feel for my experience based on conversation rather than white-boarding and tons of testing. They were very nice, easy to talk to and made everything very stress free. I really enjoyed that about them. The whole thing lasted about 20 min so I was confused and thought they decided against me. A few hours later I received a call from them asking about my salary requirements. The next day in the morning, I got a call from the CTO saying I might be a good fit and if I was willing to do a code test. The code test was a general mockup that they wanted me to build in HTML, CSS and jQuery. I was excited and completed it. I turned in what I thought was a decent test. After no word for a few days I wrote asking if the position had been filled or if I was still being considered. I never heard back. My message to the hiring team, you guys were genuinely nice and a pleasure to interact with (both in person and through email). It was for that reason that it bothered me most that you guys just stopped responding mid way through the process.I don't mind not getting an offer, but after taking a day off of work to come interview and then taking a few hours to go do one of your tests and having a lot of back and forth with you guys over the phone and email...a simple message saying you guys passed would have been really appreciated. It's helpful to understand why I wasn't the right candidate, if anything to improve things on my end for future opportunities.
