A bit informal, though there was a writing test involved. The interview was with the Executive Editor and the two Section Editors. Overall, it was really laid back and comfortable. They focused mostly on my experience in the digital space, writing for digital news organizations and asked me specific questions about how I would cover a local community, how I would make contacts, and what ideas I had to make the news coverage the best it could possibly be.
