      Entretien

There're 5 steps, a lot of people said it's difficult, but I think it's easy because you get clear instructions for each step, just take your time and you will make it through. I made it to step 4. But step 4(sales demo) is a little bit tricky, it's not difficult, it's just the way it's been programmed and the expectation from Smartly you must understand before taking this step. Everyone is expected to behave similarly to the book they provide you, regardless of your previous experience. Here's an example, a client interested in your solution via your cold email and have no idea how you can help them, and hope you convince them to start a trial, and they expect you to gather information and qualify needs on-site, and match each needs to product feature to win a deal. HOWEVER, in reality, it's not going to work, from my previous knowledge, no single client would meet you without knowing who you are and what you can offer, why you're different. Once client agreed sitting in the meeting, it means they must at least know what you do and offer, and you better quickly explain further on why you're different, the biggest advantage and by how. If you don't go their way, you fail. This is not a sales simulation, it's a show, and you're expected to behave exatly the way, the order they wish to see. Furthermore, for anyone doing sales, this is not a science formula, as long as it gets to people skills, it's all about making sense, don't let the scripts in your mind refrain yourself. So for whoever is about to take step 4, take my advice, pretend you're intern, do what they expect to see, don't use your previous experiences. Finally, I personally think Smartly overall is a good company and doing something different and valuable, but your step 4 really makes no sense, especially for business roles.

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Smartly (Manille, ) en mars 2025

      Entretien

The process was more challenging than a typical interview, but in a good way—it really pushed me to reflect on my skills and how I approach onboarding and client management. There were about 5 rounds in total: 1. Initial chat with HR 2. Interview with the hiring manager 3. Interview with the head of onboarding 4. Interview with the hiring manager’s sales counterpart (which I was told was not standard, but was included for me) 5. Final presentation to the hiring manager Despite the multiple rounds, the entire process was clear and well-organized. I always knew what was coming next, who I was speaking to, and what kind of questions to prepare for. That level of transparency made a huge difference.

      Question 1

The first few rounds were fairly standard—typical account management questions like how you’d handle a difficult client, explain a technical concept, or convince a client to renew. What stood out as more difficult were the latter rounds. The interview with the head of onboarding was the most technical. She focused on Facebook/Meta advertising—so expect platform-specific questions. Thankfully, they do give you a study guide beforehand, so with enough preparation, it’s manageable. The final round involved access to Smartly.io’s platform, and you’ll be asked to analyze real data and create a presentation based on your findings. You’ll need to build a deck and walk the hiring manager through your insights while fielding questions throughout.

Recruiter reached out and then every single step of the process was a mess and waste of my time. They would schedule a call with me and then the person in Europe would call me at 3am my time instead. Happened on almost every single step and they would not show up on the scheduled call multiple times even though I woke up at 6 or 7AM to attend it. I stopped the interview process myself because the company seemed like one I did not want to work at. The recruiter still reaches out all the time. What a bad sign.
