      Entretien

      The application starts with the usual CV and cover letter. Then there are some questions such as 'why do you want to work for Shopify?'. After that, you take a typing test to work out your speed and then you wait. The next part of the process is the Life Story part which I found to be fantastic. It is done via Google Meets which makes things so much easier and more comfortable. The interviewer was so friendly that it made it more of a conversation than an interview. If you pass the Life Story stage then you will progress to the Technical Interview otherwise known as The Gauntlet. If you have previous customer service/call centre experience then this part shouldn't be too stressful. I already had a website with Shopify but I created a new one to really delve into it and I would certainly recommend that you do so before the interview. A lot of the questions can be found on Glassdoor but honestly, they're looking to see if you can think on your feet so expect a possible curveball. You're given 15 minutes to answer to simultaneous chats and when that's finished, a ten minute phone call. Personally, I found the chats to be quite easy, the phone call was a little more difficult because you're put on the spot but Google and Shopify Help have all the answers that you need. If you pass this then you will be asked for 3 references and once your referees fill out the forms, you'll be contacted to arrange a phone call with a recruiter. This is when I was offered the job. The entire process was arguably the best I've ever had. The recruiters were all so friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to ensure that everything ran smoothly. All of the times they gave me for interviews etc were spot on and they communicated with me through every step. You're never left waiting for answers and for me, the entire process took less than two weeks from filling in the application to receiving a job offer.
