I interviewed for the QA Analyst role and found I was overqualified. The position is a slightly different name for a basic game functionality QA tester in order to pay them a little more, and not the challenging expansion of responsibility or technicality I was looking for. Their QA Manager/Department Head struck me as very similar to people in similar roles in other Los Angeles area AAA studios. I inquired about team diversity and the interviewers became very defensive, quoting several statistics I was unable to verify afterward. I was not offered the job, and the reason stated in the rejection email was lack of experience.
