It was literally a 4.5 minute phone screener that lead to ghosting from the recruiter. I didn't really have much expectations from the start because they sent me a cold text message at 7:30 PM in the evening to ask about my availability for a phone screen the next day. I found that mildly irritating that they would contact me after work, and by text message too. The next day the person doing the phone screening was inpatient and jumpy. I could tell she just wanted to check off a bunch of boxes just to say that she screened everyone. On the surface she tried to seem accommodating by letting me ask questions, but she just provided abrupt answers to every one of them. Finally she asked what my expected salary would be and explained she would report back to the hiring manager and would call me later in the afternoon. She never did. And if I were to guess it was because they didn't want to pay a reasonable salary to someone who has years of experience and an advanced degree. To anyone reading this, don't let these clowns low-ball you. Not worth your time.
