The interview was revealed to be a group audition process. As I arrived at the building, I was given a nametag with a number on it and directed to an unfinished concrete room with construction materials laying around. There were roughly 30 applicants in the room and it was revealed we would all be competing for the one position and auditioning in front of each other. As the manager and assistant manager spoke, loud music was being played that made it hard to hear them. They also said during their introduction that anyone under 18 would not be able to be employed, and asked anyone under 18 to leave. We were then given a slip of paper with vague directions on it and a brief demonstration by the manager and assistant of what the first audition section would look like. Then we were told we had 10 minutes to prepare before we would present in front of everyone. At this point, I left the interview and did not return, no longer wishing to work for this company. The setup and conduct was very unprofessional, and the way things were handled (the large group interview, the uncertainty of our ages, etc.) gave me the impression our resumes had not been reviewed ahead of time. I left quite disappointed as I had driven an hour for this interview, only to deal with a company that did not value the applicants enough to screen us in advance or value our time, as this audition was going to take upwards of two hours.
