I was called at 5:15 PM on a Friday and given a job offer. My start date would be 2 weeks out. On the voicemail, the recruiter said I had to accept or decline that same night. I received a follow-up email after the voicemail with the hourly pay and a button that said "Accept" or "Decline". No information about benefits, and certainly no option to negotiate. I thought this was pretty unreasonable... I emailed back Monday morning hoping to negotiate pay. After my email, I received a call from another recruiter saying they hadn't heard from me, and they reiterated that I was told to respond by the end of the day last Friday. I called back and they said they received my email and could offer me $0.50 more per hour, but that I would need to have a decision immediately. I felt pressured and slightly annoyed, so I politely declined the offer when put on the spot. I felt it was inappropriate to call so late on Friday and expect an answer that same night. I still don't know what the benefits would have been.
