The interview felt more like a formality. I asked the HM some questions about the future scope of the role, their interests, and the kind of work this role will involve. It seemed like they were not prepared enough or maybe not interested. On asking follow up questions based on their answers, I immediately realised that I would be rejected from the role, which I believe was a good thing because of these red flags. People don't realize that interviews are a 2-way conversation. The position has been open for a while and the last person left the role in 2023, which again raises some concerns. Got an automated rejection email that night. One of the worst interviews I have ever had. The only positive thing was the fact that it was timely.
