The interview process is very standard. One phone screen and if it goes well, they bring you on-site interview which consists of 5 rounds including lunch with hiring manager. Phone - I scheduled phone interview thrice. Nobody called me for first 2 times (engineer forgot to call, manager went out in the meeting) and they keep rescheduling the phone interview. It was such an unprofessional experience dealing with Paypal. Onsite - Since I was applying for Android role, my first round was 2 hours long where I was asked to develop Android app (from the scratch) based on the requirements given to me in a pdf. There will be an interviewer in the room who won't answer any question you might have. One of the rounds was with an engineer who seemed so disinterested in the interview process that he was asking the questions in monotone without any expressions and constantly looking on his laptop screen. Third round with an engineer when I was solving the questions on the board explaining the problem and he was constantly staring his phone. And, he kept asking me repeatedly to explain again the solution I just explained. I was like WTF. I didn't have a good time meeting with the Paypal engineers. This was the first time I had an interview where none of the interviewers were interested in knowing about my mobile experience or what I do, none of the interviewers told what they do at Paypal and nobody asked me if I have any questions. I wish the interviewers were little motivated & excited about Paypal and polite. I came out of onsite interview knowing nothing about Paypal engineering challenges.
