I had an initial call with the recruiter, and then a call with the hiring manager. The recruiter seemed nice, but after the call with the hiring manager I was ghosted.
Autres retours d’entretien d’embauche pour un poste comme Software Engineer chez Nitrogen Wealth
Waste of my time. The pay was subpar for what they are asking of the engineers. Ended up taking an offer from a different company that could afford my services.

Question 1
General software questions..... nothing too specific.
J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Nitrogen Wealth (Atlanta, GA) en déc. 2018
Entretien
Phone screen with Recruiter talking about the company (about 30 minutes)
On site personality/cultural fit talking about projects I've worked on, why I want a new role etc.
This took about an hour and I was given ample time to ask questions.
On site technical interview. I was given a front end mock web page to review and asked to think about how I would design a backend system based on that system.
The technical interview was about an hour of me describing how the database schema and object-oriented code that would map over the database schema. I felt like this was a fair interview for a backend position and struck a good balance between level of effort and allowing for me to demonstrate my ability. It was technology agnostic and mostly focused on how I would have approached DB design. I enjoyed the interview technical interview process.
Most of the interview process went very well, but there seems to be a disconnect between the recruiter (who is in California) and the hiring manager (who is in Atlanta). I followed up with the recruiter several times and was given generally good feedback each time. Eventually the recruiter told me that I should expect a call from the hiring manager. I have not heard anything back in over a month.
I understand that it is difficult to reach out to every candidate and update them if they are passed over for a job, but it is very disappointing to expect a followup and to never receive one.
It seems like a good company, but they need to work on their candidate experience.

Question 1
Why do you prefer working in the backend instead of the front end?
