Virtual assessment centre:
Networking session: 30-minute talk with candidates and staff that have been through the process. Have at least one question prepared.
Presentation Prep: 45 minutes to prepare a presentation about a case study. The case study is about 8 pages of information about adding a new powerplant to the grid with 3 different options all with various pros and cons. You have to create a presentation about the different options including costing, benefits and drawbacks. You then make a suggestion based on your findings and finally create a communication plan on how you would communicate your decision to locals in the area.
Presentation: 10-minute presentation to 2 members of staff. Then 10 minutes of questioning.
Interview: 1 hour with 2 members of staff, 6 competencies based questions and 1 business-related questions. National grid will give you a list of core competencies so relate your answers back to these. You will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end.
