I was contacted through email by a Recruiting Coordinator after submitting my resume through the career portal. First round was a phone screen to go through my resume, why I was interested in the role and what qualifications I had that aligned with the position. Recruiting Coordinator worked me with to arrange the next two rounds, which were all video due to no on-site interviews. Every member was nice, engaging and clearly loves their job. Most of them have been there for years, which is not common in tech. Follow up was great and was guided from start to finish. They allowed me to ask honest questions and I could tell their responses were genuine.

I interviewed with the hiring manager who came 10 minutes late to a 30-minute HM screen. I got the impression that she didn't respect me or my time. She also made no effort to get to know me or what I could bring to the table. The interview questions she had for me contained little substance and didn't allow me to expand or pivot to my experience. Questions such as: What would your best friend describe you as?
She finished the interview by saying she "was interviewing people with double my experience, but my biggest asset was that I was local to their HQ, so I could learn faster." WHAT? I'm sure she didn't mean to be condescending, but it was so insulting and patronizing, especially since I didn't get a chance to advocate for myself. I just sat there taken aback as she excused herself immediately afterwards.
Why waste both of our time if you're just going to ask me garbage questions? How does that benefit anyone?
Such a frustrating and disappointing interview.

1st interview with Recruiter Manager (China)
2nd and 3rd interview with senior level people in CA
Overall interview was ok. However, 1st interview was just centered on sourcing and that is it. Never really got to know me or what I could bring to the team. 2nd and 3rd seemed more focused on that but a disconnect between probably what is needed locally in CA compared to Japan. CA seems to want to do the Silicon way in Japan but doesn't really understand the market. Try to tell them but fail to listen even when they say their CEO is 100% behind recruiting.
Didn't get any real feedback just some concerns. Follow-up to ask about but nothing. Seems be a disconnect though between wants and reality possible too much pride behind brand.
