I went to a medline hiring event. There were a ton of people there. Seemed like hundreds. The lobby of the hotel was so filled with people you could not tell where the registration line started. They eventually had to turn people away and tell them to maybe come back later or at a later hiring event. I stayed and toughed it out. Snuck back in line somewhere. I waited approximately 3 hours to eventually register my name and receive a number. I waited about another hour and 15 minutes to take an assessment test. They assessment test consisted of multiple choice questions involving a lot of math. And it’s time you have to think quick and use scrap paper to do calculations. The next part of the test consisted of hypothetical social situations in which you choose your prospective from 4 multiple choice answers. It was common sense at that point. I finished then wait about another 3 hours. Found out I passed the assessment exams and moved on to the interview stage of the day. I interviewed with two medline representatives. The first interview was regarding my past work experience and maybe some questions about what I could contribute to medline. It was pleasant and I thought fast spoke concisely and was very polite. She like that I talked and appeared to be extremely vocal and could communicate effectively. My advice is do not be stand-offiah. And be the nicest person they see that day. After the interview she introduced me to a manager higher up to do a mini interview introduction. He came out after 10 mini and said, sit you have the job. Asked me about what I’m comfortable doing at the warehouse site. He also informed me about benefits, overtime hours required and said often time they just work until they finish their tasks which could be 13 or 14 hours. I said that’s great. Advice: never show discourage regarding long work hours. They don’t like that at this company. They want you to come to work and stay for however long it takes. And honestly if you need the money and want to work it’s worth it. He explained many opportunities to move up in the company and asked me if I had a college degree. Explained Medline loves to promote from within. Then the interview was over he gave me a prehire couple of worksheets to complete. It included the drug test which is to be done the next day and you have 48 hours to complete. You get to choose from many medical facilities in your area to go to. It’s quick and completed my drug test the next day in 20 minutes. They sent my test to a lab and was clearled and past a few business days later. They then emailed me about 5 days after my interview to complete background check questionnaire and info and consent. It’s an extensive background check in which they check your residences for the past 7 years, and they check your work history for the previous 3 years. They called my previous employers about 2 days after I submitted my background info online. Please check yes that they can contact your previous employers as this will speed up your background check clearance. It is completed through careerbuilder and they are vigilant on checking everything in your past. It also stated that they do a brief credit check as well but it did not affect my credit score nor did it show an inquiry on my report. So finally 2 days after that I received a call in the morning to complete the last step of the process which is the physical examination. They scheduled me the same day at 2pm at a local hospital like rehab center. I went they took my height weight blood pressure, and had me perform minor bone strenuous tasks like picking up a crate with weights in it and setting it on a table and bending down things of this nature. It took online 20 minutes and was painless and easy. The nurse informed me that I passed and stated Th he would send my results to my prospective employer. I wait about 7 more days and received 4 emails from medline recruiters stating that I passed my background check and my drug screen and that I now had an official start date! They asked me to confirm via email that I would accept that start date. I did. Then they immediately emailed me my tax i9 info forms along with prehire info regarding benefits and work policies and everything you need to know about the company and guidelines. You read through it and must complete it before your first day of work and 72 business hours before your start date. I did so and they confirmed my start date for the next week. I interviewed on January 9th and my start date was officially set for February 4. The process was quick and painless and medline is great at communicating with their future hires regarding the steps that you need to take to secure the position. Best hiring process by far I’ve ever had.

Interview was really easy overall. The manager did not ask too many technical questions, and just wanted to know a little more about me and my background. It was more of a conversation and was a pretty good first impression of the leadership style and company overall.
