      Entretien

One of the most confusing interviews I’ve had. It was in 3 parts: Part: I interviewed with the Marketing Director and Manager. They gave me a rundown of the position and said I would have complete creative freedom and pulled up my portfolio as examples that they loved. They said they loved what I did and could try anything for content. Sounded great but possibly too good to be true. They told me they loved me and would pass me thru. Part 2: this part was in person with the CEO, CFO, and HR. The vibe was completely different, they hadn’t looked at my portfolio but asked me questions that could be answered by looking at my portfolio. They were more serious but asked me what I felt was missing from their socials and what platform I think is more important. Regardless, I went to the next round. Part 3: I was given a creative project. I was was given free reign to do a mini campaign about sustainability. They wanted to see my storytelling and content creation skills. I went all out with the project and made a creative deck. I spent money on resources for the campaign as well that I didn’t get reimbursed for. They wanted me to create a reel, carousel, and single image post and gave me a blank hoodie and blank tee to work with. The odd part is while the black tee was made of sustainable material, the white tee they gave me wasn’t. After i submitted the campaign, I waited a week and I noticed they put the job listing back up. I found it odd so I asked HR and they told me they weren’t going to hire me. But putting the listing back up first was very unprofessional. I asked for feedback and the Marketing Director essentially told me that it wasn’t like what I did on my previous works. I found it odd that my work was essentially being compared to my previous works as if I am not the person that made the previous works they liked for their company. They want to give you creative freedom but then judge your work subjectively instead of seeing how people work. They should be more specific about what they are looking for instead of wasting everyone’s time.
