The interview process was disappointing and disrespectful. Each call I had with someone from the team had them call me late and they then proceeded to rush me through our discussion. Each time I provided my availability, the recruiter did not schedule the meetings until last minute, even though she had been sitting on that info for awhile. There was also very little time for me to ask questions or learn about the role or the company during each round. Leaving 1-2 minutes for questions at the end of a call isn't great. I agree with a previous review saying that Klaviyo seems to want FAANG level employees and they claim they're looking to grow their teams, but they want unicorn employees that don't exist. The hiring manager I spoke with seemed incredibly bored and bordered on rude during our call. There was a definite young white straight bro vibe when I spoke with them, and I didn't get the sense that he truly respected me or my time. I asked a question at one point and he got irritated and muttered under his breath. But I suppose this is what happens when you have mid-twentysomethings as "leaders" in the organization. Their response about diversity initiatives were telling as well, and when I asked, it was a lot of rambling without a concrete answer about their stats on LGBTQ+ or BIPOC employees. That's never a good sign.
