Presentation about a building of your choice
Pictures of defects
Basic questions about company
Shocking process for such a big firm. I thought I did really well answered every question. They took 4 weeks to get back to me and gave me no explanation for why I wasn’t successful

Three of us were being interviewed on the day.
We were split up with one interview for 30 minutes by a HR representative whilst a senior surveyor interviewed another candidate for 30 minutes and the remaining candidate was put in a quiet room and given 30 minutes to prepare a 5 minute presentation on a random question (the presentation happens later). You are rotated until you have done all three.
Technical interview seemed to be just to gauge where you were at and was laid back in approach, HR interview was also casual.
All three candidates then went into a room with the HR representative, the senior surveyor and two others who had recently just passed their APC. We then did our presentations (the question was "What's the weirdest thing that's happened to you?). This seemed to be to demonstrate your oral skills etc. We were then able to ask the newly qualified surveyors any questions we might have.
Lastly we went into another room with three new graduate surveyors for a general chat and a cup of tea about their experience so far at Malcolm Hollis.
Overall quite a refreshing approach and an enjoyable and laid back process compared to others.

The hiring process is very simple, something which other companies did not adhere to which was not appealing.
CV and Covering letter submission.
Single interview (with 3 stages, lasting half a day in total).
Find out if you are successful within a week.
