I had a first round interview with the Head of Eng which was more of a technical deep dive. From there I was asked to complete a take home assignment which was a set of code related to the LLM tech the company works on and was asked to make the code work properly and put my own creative spin on it. I was told this was instead of the Leetcode style interview that most co's do onsite. I found this to be the coolest take home assignment I've done before. It was challenging but gave me an opportunity to dive into things like RAG which I hadn't worked with before. From there I came onsite and had a challenging team session where we worked through a technical problem that was specific to things they were currently working on. This was challenging and really made me think on my feet but I found it a good way to get to interact with the team in a more real world setting which was a pretty novel way to interview compared to what I normally see at big tech and startups these days. After that I had a number of 1:1's with the team and and multiple co-founders. I was surprised how technical the co-founders were. Lastly I met with the CEO who gave me an overview of the vision for the company which was great.
