The interview experience with Hevo Data was disappointing and unprofessional. The recruiter appeared unclear about the actual role being hired for. The initial outreach discussed one position, but during the conversation, an entirely different role was being referenced. It felt unprepared and poorly coordinated. What made the experience worse was the line of questioning around relocation. Instead of focusing on role fit, experience, or professional qualifications, the conversation shifted toward whether I could move my entire family across the city for the job, without any sensitivity toward personal circumstances or even basic professionalism. The discussion felt intrusive and unnecessary. There was also undue pressure to immediately send my resume “right after the call,” which came across as aggressive and disrespectful of a candidate’s time and process. Candidates invest time and energy preparing for interviews, and the least expected in return is clarity, professionalism, and mutual respect. Recruiters should focus on evaluating candidates based on relevant skills and experience rather than steering conversations into unrelated personal territory. Unfortunately, this interaction reflected poorly on the company’s hiring culture. I would strongly encourage applicants to do their research before engaging in the interview process at Hevo Data.

The interview cycle was very prolonged and the HR took a long while to correspond on the next steps. The first round includes a case study that you have to work on, post which you will have an introductory round with the hiring manager, followed by a case study presentation round.
