First interview is to take up Predictive Index (PI Behavior test) and the Cognitive Assessment. Behavior/Personality test (PI) is not timed and this is acceptable considering the type of assessment. Cognitive assessment (verbal, numerical, and abstract reasoning...) is all about answering 50 questions in 12 minutes i.e. ~0.24 mins to answer each question :-) That's a RED FLAG to me about hiring companies irrespective of how big/small/great company is. This itslef shows to me that their interest is not to look at your knowledge, skills and experience that you gained all these hardworking years and your achievements in the relevant field. I am totally reluctant to take up the Cognitive test as it's like a "Competitive exam" and that too without practice tests provision to bring me up-to that speed. But took a chance to check my luck. I have given similar tests for other big/reputed companies and very good/No.1 in their field and cleared the same. To me, those companies are interested to check your cognitive ability/behavior/leadership style/verbal reasons/abstract reasoning as a last step but not to check whether you can answer a question in 0.24 mins. I am sure you being in a senior management position won't usually take any decisions hastily/in 0.24 mins using your cognitive abilities. One has to understand that answering these Cognitive assessment questions (verbal, numerical, and abstract reasoning) is not something that we do on a daily basis in a software development company being in a senior management/leadership position i.e. to answer 50 questions in 12 minutes (i.e. ~ 0.24 mins for each question) at the first attempt/without much practice tests (unless you want to go buy tests and prepare for days as if you are writing some competitive exam). Usually, Uni/College students prepare for competitive exams for a long long time to attain that kind of speed and it's not definitely achieved in overnight. So, considering that mostly attempting and clearing this test will be completely a fluke/luck factor. I am just wondering if Hiring Manager/HR/for that matter CxOs had to go thru these tests. And I am sure with this kind of interview process, any company will lose good talent and take ages to fill a role.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your interview process. Henry Schein One is committed to ensuring success for all its candidates in any potential new role and as such there are a number of stages to the interview process. PI and PLI are just a part of that process. The PLI cognitive test provides a possible 50 questions and a time limit of 12 minutes as you state. However, there is no requirement for candidates to complete all questions, only to work through the 12 minutes allowed. Assessments are not negatively affected by not answering all questions. If you would like an opportunity to discuss the matter further with one of our HR team, then please email “apaccareers@henryscheinone.com.au” and we can organise an appropriate time. Once again thank you for your feedback.
