I recently had a phone screening with a talent acquisition coordinator and was deeply disappointed by the experience. I expressed my passion for the role and my desire to grow within the company, but when discussing salary, simply stating the minimum I would need to cover basic living expenses, I was abruptly told that “money is my main motivator.” The interaction felt dismissive and unfair, especially given my genuine interest in the position and the company. It was disheartening to feel judged for needing a livable wage. I hope future candidates are treated with more respect and understanding.
