My recent interview experience with Genekor left me utterly disappointed and disheartened, all thanks to the unprofessional behavior of the Romanian interviewer assigned to me. From the moment the interview commenced, their attitude was nothing short of condescending and rude.
Despite my best efforts to maintain a positive demeanor and showcase my qualifications, the interviewer seemed dismissive. Their questions were delivered with a tone that bordered on hostility, making it challenging to perform at my best. It felt like I was being judged not on my skills and experience, but rather on their preconceived notions. They even told me I don’t look my age and asked me for my exact birth date.
Moreover, prior to the interview, I got a phone call from their recruiter where we specifically talked about the location, and I was told that the role was remote and it didn’t matter where I live, only to find out that the role is actually hybrid during the actual interview.
What struck me the most was the lack of respect and courtesy throughout the entire interview process. Instead of fostering a constructive dialogue, the interviewer chose to belittle and undermine my responses.
As someone who values professionalism and mutual respect in a professional setting, I find it unacceptable that such behavior is tolerated. Regardless of cultural differences, every candidate deserves to be treated with dignity and fairness during the interview process.
