Applied online, emailed by DM few days later, met face to face. Upon arrival to store, DM was on salesfloor with the store team. While waiting I opened/closed my purse several times, putting away keys/cellphone etc; each time I opened my bag the DM's head was practically inside of it eyeing the contents. After a few minutes, I was taken to the backroom and asked to fill a paper application. After another 10-15 min, DM returns to inform me that the position is actually for an Assistant position and that based on my application I was "...over qualified and I can't afford you...". He then asked me questions regarding my prior DM, asking if I thought that DM would be interested in being a DM for Five Below etc. It echoed of the multi-level marketing "companies" who request "references" just to go around and attempt to recruit said "references". The DM then went on to compare Five Below as superior marketing/operational/sales etc to a Big Box Pharmaceutical company in my work history before I stopped him and declined to go any further with the interview. It was almost as if once my experience came out to be true, he just started saying anything that came to mind.

The interviews ( 2 ) went great and then I was ghosted, I reached out multiple times and never got a response after I was shown how the systems worked and told I was a perfect fit for the role.

I traveled for almost an hour to get to this interview and was 10 minutes early. The DM was in the middle of an interview when I got there, so I was told I can browse around the store until my time came. Well, the time my interview was suppose to start came and the DM was still interviewing the same candidate, the DM saw me, so they knew I was waiting. The DM finished with that interview 40 minutes after mines was suppose to start. I didn't get the job, but I no longer wanted to work for a company with people who clearly do NOT respect your time.

I had a face to face interview with the training manager which I thought went very well. I was then scheduled for a phone interview on That following Monday with the covering DM. Again I thought the interview went well. I was informed that I would hear something that Wednesday or Thursday. Hear it is 2 weeks later and I have not heard one peep. I don’t mind if they decided to move on, but have the respect and courtesy to let me know.
