      Entretien pour Editorial Professional

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 5 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Ericsson (Budapest) en août 2023

      Entretien

I applied for the "Editorial Professional" role under the Budapest office on the 15th of August. Initially, I had high expectations as I thought Ericsson was a widely reputable international company. However, I was only faced with more and more negativity as I got myself into the hiring process. They first reached out to me by email and everything was followed by a phone interview. After the first phone interview, they reached out to me with another phone call for which I had to wait another week. After that, I had an almost hour-long online interview in which they asked me about my previous experiences and why I’d like to work in this role. However, this is where everything started going south. Whenever I asked about the exact model of the work, they literally couldn’t tell me what it would look like. They mentioned that it is a hybrid model but the hiring manager told me that I wouldn’t necessarily need to relocate as it’s an almost remote role contrary to what the previous manager told me during the phone interview. He said that I would need to relocate at least for the duration of the probation period. Moreover, the whole hiring process was shady overall. They couldn’t ever directly tell me how many rounds of interviews I had to complete (one manager told me 3 or 4 whilst the other told me that there were even more…) It’s safe to say that there is a great misunderstanding and miscommunication between them as even they don’t know the exact details of their hiring process and positions, which is very amateur. Yet this wasn’t even the worst part of the whole process. After I finished the online interview, which took place on a Wednesday morning, the hiring manager told me that I should expect to hear from them by the end of the week or at worst at the start of next week. As you could probably guess by now none of this happened, and I had to wait 2 MORE WEEKS for literally nothing. The funny part is that I had to message the hiring manager on LinkedIn to give me some sort of feedback. Two days later, she called me up on the 19th of September to tell me that they didn’t wish to continue the process with me. All this in a ONE-MINUTE phone call. They could’ve told me that feedback immediately (they felt as though I didn’t have enough experience even though the position only required a minimum of 1-2 years of experience which I had) after the online interview, but they made me wait another 2 weeks for absolutely nothing. After I dedicated 5 WEEKS of my life waiting for their responses, the fact that they didn’t even give me a chance to complete a test (which by the way still wouldn’t have guaranteed anything as I would have had to complete another 1, 2, 3 or God knows how many rounds of interviews) is very unfair and sickening. After several email messages, 2 phone calls and an hour-long online interview what information do you expect from me to tell you? Shall I tell you the size of the T-shirt I’m wearing? Or maybe the recipe for my last meal? Or the breed that my cat is? The funny part is that had I not messaged them, they would have probably never reached out to me again. Overall, their hiring process is an absolute joke filled with a bunch of not-so-competent and nonchalant people. Their process operates slower than an average Internet Explorer browser as you have to wait weeks even for a simple response. Furthermore, they are not clear about the details of the hiring process. I always thought that the bureaucracy prevalent in the HR world is stressful, long and can deteriorate your self-esteem but they did not fail to show me how gut-wrenching everything is.

Tell me about your previous experiences. Why you would want to join the company? What could you bring to the company?
